Fasting Options

  • Option 1 – Between the hours of 7am-7pm, participants will consume fruits, nuts, vegetables, juice, and water. From 8:01pm-6:59am, participants will consume only water.

  • Option 2 – Participants will consume only juice and water from 7am-6pm. (After 6pm you are free to eat what you desire.) 

Please note that if you have any physical problems or are taking medication of any kind,  it is important to consult your physician before beginning a fast.

DAILY PRAYER POINTS

Day One | January 5th | Thanksgiving

  • Pray with praise, thanking God for who He is to us such as being our Father, Savior, Healer, Provider, and Friend (Psalm 103:1–5; Psalm 145:3)

  • Thank God for His faithfulness and goodness, especially for carrying us through the past year and bringing us into this new year (Lamentations 3:22–23; Psalm 121:7–8)

  • Thank God for providing us with the perfect sacrifice of his son Jesus! His life given and His blood shed for our redemption and freedom (John 3:16; Hebrews 9:12)

  • Thank God for the gift of salvation, grace, and eternal life, rejoicing in the assurance that we are saved and made new in Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 6:23)

  • Pray that thanksgiving and rejoicing would become a daily lifestyle, strengthening our faith and filling us with God’s joy in this next chapter.(1 Thessalonians 5:16–18; Philippians 4:4–7)

Day Two | January 6th | Repentance

  • Pray, Lord, I ask for forgiveness for any sins I have committed knowingly or unknowingly. Cleanse me, O God, and create in me a pure heart, that I may walk in Your ways and live for You. (Psalm 51:10, Psalm 51:17)

  • Repent and ask God to forgive us for every idol and everything that we have placed before Him. Submit yourself to God and give Him access to your heart. (James 4:7)

  • Repent for any doors we have opened in our lives that have caused us to operate from a place of disobedience. Doors opened by jealousy, hatred, bitterness, covetousness, envy, pride, a lying tongue, slander, idols in our hearts, sexual sins, pornography, masturbation, etc. (1 John 1:9)

  • Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to convict us of any hidden sin and help us to receive His forgiveness. Ask for times of refreshment that come from repentance. (Psalm 139:23-24, Acts 3:19)

  • Pray and ask the Lord to grant us the strength and determination to turn away from sin and pursue righteousness. Guide us to live in alignment with Your will, empowered by Your Holy Spirit. (Ezekiel 18:30-32)

  • Ask God for His mercy to enable you to present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. (Romans 12:1)

Day Three | January 7th | Salvation

  • Pray for the lost! Pray that those who do not yet know Jesus would encounter His love, truth, and saving grace, and that hearts would turn toward Him for salvation. ( Luke 19:10; Romans 10:13)

  • Pray that spiritual blinders and scales would be removed from people’s eyes, so they may clearly see Jesus for who He truly is—the Son of God and Savior of the world. (2 Corinthians 4:4; Acts 9:18)

  • Pray that hearts would be opened to receive the Gospel and respond to the invitation of salvation, as the power of God draws people to repentance and faith in Christ. (John 6:44; Romans 1:16)

  • Pray that the Lord would compel people to come to Him in this new year, releasing a great harvest of souls in our church and across our region. ( Luke 14:23; Matthew 9:37–38)

  • Pray that God would fill us with compassion for the lost, giving us boldness and love to preach the Gospel, extend invitations, and lead people into encounters with the love of Christ. (Matthew 28:19–20; Jude 1:22–23)

  • Pray that lost sons and daughters of God who have turned away and backslidden would return home, experiencing repentance, restoration, and renewal through the mercy of the Father. (Luke 15:20–24; Jeremiah 24:7; Hosea 14:1)

Day Four | January 8th | Forgiveness

  • Ask the Lord to search your heart and reveal any hurts or offenses that you need to forgive. Pray that He will empower you to forgive others as wholly and completely as He first forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32, Matthew 18:32-33)

  • Pray that we would not treat others as their sin may deserve but genuinely forgive. May our love for others be greater than their sin. (Psalm 103:10-11)

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would cover and heal all hurts from offenses with His healing power. (Malachi 4:2, Jeremiah 17:4)

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would transform our perspective on forgiveness. That He would help us to see it not merely as an act of mercy, but as a powerful expression of His love and healing. (Colossians 3:13)

  • Pray for a heart of reconciliation. Pray that God would grant us the strength and humility to seek reconciliation with those we have forgiven. May we not only extend forgiveness but also actively work toward healing broken relationships, just as He reconciles us to Himself through the sacrifice of His Son. (2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

Day Five | January 9th | Renewed Passion

  • Confess and repent for spiritual complacency and the distractions that have caused our hearts to grow cold in different seasons. Pray for a spiritual revival, for a renewal of our passion and love for Abba Father. Ask the Lord to reignite the flame of our first love and to help us keep it burning bright. (Revelation 2:4-5, Joel 2:12-13)

  • Pray for God to turn hearts of stone into hearts of flesh—soft, responsive, and surrendered to Him (Ezekiel 36:26)

  • Pray and cry out to the Lord to fill us with a desire for Him and His house. May the appetite of our hearts be for the things of God. (Psalm 84:2)

  • Pray that the Lord would set our hearts on fire for Him. May we radiate with His glory, releasing the joy and hope that is within. (Romans 12:11-13)

  • Pray the Lord would give us the grace, confidence, courage, and boldness to not hold in or hold back what He’s placed in us. May we release the fire, release the anointing, and release all of Him that is within us. (Jeremiah 20:9)

Day Six | January 10th | Deliverance

  • Pray for the full armor of God to protect you from spiritual attacks and to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

  • Pray for the power of the blood of Jesus to cleanse and purify you from all unclean spirits. (1 John 1:7)

  • Decree and declare deliverance from every oppressive influence and power that drives us, influences us, and operates through those around us. Pray and ask the Lord to deliver His children from every form of oppression. (Ephesians 6:12, James 4:7, Luke 10:19)

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts and transforms those entangled in perverse desires. Pray for the light of Christ to expose darkness and break all chains of perversion. (Romans 8:5-6, Ephesians 5:13-14)

  • Pray against hopelessness. May those bound by depression find hope and an answer to their faith, walk, and existence. (Proverbs 13:12)

  • Pray the Lord would deliver anyone who has fallen into pits and is stuck in cycles of sin. Pray for every demonic cycle to be broken by the power of God. (Psalm 40:2)

  • Pray against every form of fear and timidity in the hearts of those struggling with anxiety in the name of Jesus. Pray for a sound mind and self-discipline, replacing anxiety with the peace that surpasses understanding. (2 Timothy 1:7, Philippians 4:6-7)

Day Seven | January 11th | Prepare Us

  • Pray that every heart in this service would be softened, receptive, and ready to receive everything God desires to release today. (Ezekiel 36:26; Psalm 95:7–8)

  • Pray that the presence of God would be tangible in this room—bringing conviction, comfort, healing, and clarity to every person present. (Exodus 33:14; Psalm 16:11)

  • Pray that every distraction, burden, and competing voice would be silenced so God’s Word can take deep root and produce lasting fruit. (Mark 4:18–20; Hebrews 12:1)

  • Pray that the Word released in this service would not return void, but would accomplish God’s purpose in hearts, families, and futures.
    (Isaiah 55:10–11; James 1:22)

  • Pray that God would align our church with His timing, direction, and assignments as we step into the Next Chapter. ( Proverbs 3:5–6; Psalm 37:23)

  • Pray that unity, faith, and expectancy would rise among us, positioning our church to steward what God is about to entrust to us.
    (Ephesians 4:3; Hebrews 11:6)

  • Pray that this Next Chapter would be marked by transformation, fruitfulness, and impact—within our church and far beyond our walls.
    (Isaiah 43:18–19; John 15:8)

Day Eight | January 12th | Healing

  • Pray for complete healing over hearts, minds, and bodies—including the healing of broken hearts, emotional wounds, and unseen pain (Psalm 147:3, Isaiah 53:5, 3 John 1:2)

  • Pray for hearts that trust God fully, even in seasons of grief, disappointment, and uncertainty (Proverbs 3:5–6, Psalm 34:18)

  • Pray for renewal of the mind and strength for weary souls, that hope would be restored and faith would rise (Romans 12:2, Isaiah 40:29–31)

  • Pray against sickness and disease, declaring healing, wholeness, and life through the power of Jesus Christ (Psalm 107:20, Mark 16:17–18)

Day Nine | January 13th | Prayer for the Region of Greenbelt / PG County

  • Pray for the region of Greenbelt, Maryland, and the greater Prince George’s County area, declaring that this land belongs to the Lord and is aligned with His purposes (Psalm 24:1)

  • Pray against darkness, spiritual strongholds, and any influences in this region that keep people from knowing God, declaring that the light of Christ overcomes all darkness (Ephesians 6:12:2, 2 Corinthians 10:3–5, John 1:5)

  • Pray for hearts in this region to be softened and turned toward God, that many would come to know His truth, love, and salvation (Ezekiel 36:26)

  • Pray for governmental leaders and those in positions of authority, that God would raise up leaders who fear Him, walk in wisdom, and make godly decisions for the welfare, justice, and well-being of the people they serve (1 Timothy 2:1–2, Proverbs 29:2, Psalm 33:12)

  • Pray for favor in this region for Light City Church. That doors would open, relationships would be built, the church would be received with grace, and many lives and families would encounter God through the ministry (Psalm 84:11; Acts 2:47)

Day Ten | January 14th | Prayer for Strength & Perseverance

  • Pray for supernatural strength to endure difficult seasons, to remain rooted in faith, and to not lose sight of who God is or what He has promised (Isaiah 40:29; 2 Corinthians 4:16)

  • Pray for the strength, discipline, and grace to not grow weary in doing good, even when results are delayed or unseen (Galatians 6:9; Hebrews 12:1)

  • Pray for times of refreshing and renewal to come through God’s presence, intentional rest, divine opportunities, and life-giving community (Acts 3:19; Matthew 11:28)

  • Pray for increased spiritual, emotional, and physical capacity to faithfully carry out God’s will and purposes in every season of our lives (Ephesians 3:20; Philippians 2:13)

Day Eleven | January 15th | Vision

  • Pray that God would reveal His plans and purposes for our lives, both for this season and the seasons ahead (Jeremiah 29:11; Amos 3:7)

  • Pray that the Lord would give us spiritual clarity and understanding to see His will clearly, removing confusion and uncertainty (Proverbs 3:5–6; Psalm 119:105)

  • Pray against fear, doubt, and hesitation, that we would walk confidently and boldly in our God-given gifts and callings (2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 11:29)

  • Pray for discernment to recognize God’s voice and direction (John 10:27; James 1:5)

  • Pray that our vision would align with God’s vision. Pray that our plans, desires, and ambitions would submit to His greater purpose (Habakkuk 2:2–3; Proverbs 16:3)

  • Pray for faith to step out in obedience even when the full picture is not yet clear, trusting God with each next step (Hebrews 11:1; Psalm 37:23)

Day Twelve | January 16th | Make Us a House of Prayer

  • Pray that our personal prayer lives would deepen and increase, that prayer would become our first response rather than our last resort, and that we would delight in meeting with God daily.(Matthew 6:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Psalm 63:1)

  • Pray that a strong spirit of prayer would be released in our church, stirring hunger for God’s presence and uniting us as a praying people who seek Him together. (Acts 1:14; Acts 2:42; Zechariah 12:10)

  • Pray that God would truly make us a house of prayer for all people, where His presence is honored, His voice is heard, and lives are transformed through prayer. (Isaiah 56:7; Matthew 21:13)

  • Pray that the Lord would lead us into consecration in the place of prayer, setting us apart in holiness, humility, and surrender as we seek His will for this next chapter. (Joel 2:12–13; Romans 12:1; Psalm 24:3–4)

  • Pray that prayer would shape every decision, vision, and step we take in this next chapter, aligning us with God’s purpose and releasing His power, wisdom, and direction.  (Proverbs 3:5–6; James 1:5; Jeremiah 33:3)

Day Thirteen | January 17th | Idolatry

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal and expose anything such as people, habits, ambitions, or distractions that has taken priority over God (Psalm 139:23–24; Ezekiel 14:3)

  • Pray for the courage, humility, and strength to obey God, renounce idols, repent fully, and return wholeheartedly to Him (1 John 5:21; Joel 2:12–13)

  • Pray for a renewed hunger, deeper desire, and genuine love for God that surpasses every competing affection (Psalm 42:1–2; Matthew 22:37)

  • Pray that God would be fully restored to the throne of our hearts (Colossians 1:18; Proverbs 3:5–6)

Day Fourteen | January 18th | Realign Our Hearts

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal and expose anything such as people, habits, ambitions, or distractions that has taken priority over God (Psalm 139:23–24; Ezekiel 14:3)

  • Pray for the courage, humility, and strength to obey God, renounce idols, repent fully, and return wholeheartedly to Him (1 John 5:21; Joel 2:12–13)

  • Pray for a renewed hunger, deeper desire, and genuine love for God that surpasses every competing affection (Psalm 42:1–2; Matthew 22:37)

  • Pray that God would be fully restored to the throne of our hearts (Colossians 1:18; Proverbs 3:5–6)

  • Pray that our renewed devotion to God would lead to transformed lives, holy living, and fruit that reflects His glory in this Next Chapter.  (Romans 12:1–2; John 15:5)

Day Fifteen | January 19th | Financial Breakthrough

  • Pray that God would provide for every need and release creative ideas, wisdom, and opportunities to grow financially and steward resources well (Deuteronomy 8:18; James 1:5)

  • Pray that we would trust God fully with our finances. Pray that God will help you grow in honoring Him in our giving, managing resources wisely, and walking in obedience (Proverbs 3:9–10; Malachi 3:10)

  • Pray that we would give freely, generously, and cheerfully to those in need, reflecting God’s heart and becoming a blessing to others (2 Corinthians 9:6–8; Luke 6:38)

  • Pray against fear, lack, and financial anxiety, declaring God as our source and provider (Philippians 4:19; Matthew 6:31–33)

  • Pray that God would expose unhealthy money habits, mindsets, and patterns anything rooted in fear, lack, pride, or poor stewardship and lead us toward wisdom and discipline (Psalm 139:23–24; Proverbs 21:5)

Day Sixteen | January 20th | Praying for Families

  • Pray for healing, restoration, and reconciliation in broken families, asking God to mend relationships and bring peace where there has been division (Psalm 147:3; Malachi 4:6)

  • Pray for families who have experienced loss, grief, or tragedy, that God would comfort them, strengthen them, and surround them with His comfort and peace (Psalm 34:18; Matthew 5:4)

  • Pray for protection, unity, and spiritual covering over all families, that they would be rooted in love, grace, and God’s truth (Joshua 24:15; Psalm 91:1)

  • Pray for the salvation of entire families. That hearts would be softened, chains would be broken, and households would come to know and follow Jesus together (Acts 16:31; Joshua 24:15)

  • Pray that families would be drawn to Light City Church to encounter God’s presence, experience community, and grow deeper in their faith (Psalm 92:13; Hebrews 10:24–25)

Day Seventeen| January 21st | Prayer Against Dark Forces

  • Pray for the dismantling of every dark spiritual force that opposes the mission and advancement of the Gospel (Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5)

  • Pray for the removal of every hindrance, deception, and distraction that keeps the hearts and minds of people from receiving the truth of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4; Mark 4:15)

  • Pray for hearts that are hardened, blinded, or resistant to the Gospel. That those hearts would be softened and made receptive to the Word of God (Ezekiel 36:26; Acts 16:14)

  • Pray for spiritual clarity and freedom, that every veil would be lifted and the light of Christ would shine clearly in every heart (2 Corinthians 3:16; John 8:32)

Day Eighteen| January 22nd | Prayer To be Light

  • Pray that we would walk in boldness, courage, and confidence as followers of Christ, unashamed of the gospel and led by the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:29; 2 Timothy 1:7)

  • Pray that we would shine forth the light of Christ through our words, actions, and lifestyles, reflecting God’s love wherever we go (Matthew 5:14–16; Philippians 2:15)

  • Pray that we would not hide our faith or dim our light out of fear, comfort, or pressure, but live boldly for God (Matthew 5:15; Romans 1:16)

  • Pray that we would be a godly influence in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities; drawing others closer to God through how we live (Matthew 5:16; Colossians 4:5–6)

Day Nineteen | January 23rd | Make Us Exceedingly Fruitful 

  • Pray that God would cause our lives to bear much fruit. Pray for fruit that glorifies Him and advances His kingdom (John 15:8; Psalm 1:3)

  • Pray that our God-given gifts, talents, and abilities would be activated, strengthened, and used effectively for God’s purposes (1 Peter 4:10; Romans 12:6)

  • Pray that we would walk in obedience and faithfulness with what God has entrusted to us (Matthew 25:21; Luke 16:10)

  • Pray that God would multiply our efforts, influence, and reach beyond our own ability or understanding (Genesis 1:28; 2 Corinthians 9:10)

  • Pray against stagnation, comparison, and misuse of our gifts, and ask God to refine and mature us (Galatians 5:22–23; Proverbs 11:30)

Day Twenty | January 24th | Next Chapter Sunday

  • Pray that the transition to Eleanor Roosevelt High School would be smooth, orderly, and covered by God’s peace, with every logistical detail aligned and settled (Proverbs 16:3; Isaiah 26:3)

  • Pray against any delays, disruptions, or plans of the kingdom of darkness that would attempt to hinder or distract from the service, declaring God’s authority and victory (Isaiah 54:17; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5)

  • Pray that the presence of God would move powerfully during the service, touching hearts, transforming lives, and drawing people closer to Him (Acts 2:37; Psalm 85:6)

  • Pray that people would come to understand that there is no shame or condemnation in Christ, and that through Him they can experience freedom, healing, and a fresh start (Romans 8:1; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

  • Pray that God would mark this service as the beginning of a new chapter—that faith would be stirred, hope would be restored, and many would say yes to what God is doing next in their lives (Isaiah 43:18–19; Philippians 1:6)

Day Twenty-One | January 25th | Advancement of Light City’s Vision

  • Pray over the vision and purpose of Light City Church to come to pass in this next Chapter and Beyond. Pray that more lives will be impacted, that regions will be changed, and many will encounter the Father at Light City. Let’s declare the plans of God to be fulfilled in Jesus name. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

  • Pray that Light City would grow into a house of prayer. Pray against all hindrances and disruptions set by the enemy to delay the vision of Light City Church becoming a house of prayer. Pray for divine protection and perseverance in the face of spiritual opposition. Ask for God's intervention to remove every obstacle hindering the fulfillment of this vision, enabling the church to rise above challenges and press forward (Isaiah 56:7)

  • Pray that we as partners would display a profound commitment to seeking God's face both individually and collectively. Ask for a shared dedication among the members to prioritize intimate communion with God in their personal lives and when gathered as a church body (Acts 2:42)
